Darragh Joyce signed for Brisbane Lions after 6 years with St Kilda and played 5 consecutive games in the early rounds of 2023. Joyce was brought in as a back-up tall defender and following a couple of injuries in defence he was brought into the team from round 2 to round 6. He performed well when called upon and did a good job as the 2nd tall defender in the team. Unfortunately for Joyce a number of players returned from injuries who were ahead of him and he never regained his position in the senior team.
